We use AI every day. Here's what it will never replace.

September 9, 2026
We talk to a lot of business owners who feel like they have to "pick a side". To either lean all the way into AI, or stay old-school and skip it entirely. We don't think that's the right approach.
The truth is, we use AI daily. We've built our own tools and automations to save time, sort information faster, and get more done in a day, and it's helped us in real ways. If it can save us an hour or two, we'll take it.
But here's what hasn't changed, and won't: nobody does business with an algorithm. The trust that gets a deal done, the follow-up that turns a contact into a client, the moment someone remembers exactly what you said, that's still built one real conversation at a time.
The businesses winning right now aren't choosing between technology and relationships. They're using the technology to make more room for the relationships.

The Un-Automatable Hour
You won't find a chatbot running this one! FPA Connects happens every Thursday at 8:30 AM. These are real business owners, unscripted, showing up because a screen full of automation still can't replace a good conversation. This week especially, come see what that actually looks like.
Moni Gonzalez started baking in her mother's kitchen, delighting family and friends with every dessert she made long before it was a business. In 2012, that lifelong passion became Moni's Sweets, a home-based, family-run company built around one goal: making every customer's dream a reality, one cake, one event, one wedding at a time.
What sets Moni's Sweets apart isn't just the desserts, it's the customization behind them. Every order, from branded corporate treats to elaborate wedding cakes, is built around the client, the brand, or the occasion, not pulled off a shelf. And the business gives back just as intentionally: through Cupcakes & Cookies for a Cause, Moni's Sweets supports local nonprofits, schools, and community programs focused on children and the environment.
What surprised Moni most about running the business wasn't the baking, it was everything behind it: structure, timing, transportation, and the sheer problem-solving that goes into a tiered cake. But she says it's worth every long hour the moment a client sees their finished dessert for the first time. Watching someone light up because Moni's Sweets brought their vision to life is, for her, the best part of the job.
Right now, Moni's ideal connection is a corporation, bride, or organization looking for something custom: branded desserts, client gifts, employee appreciation treats, wedding and event sweets, or a fun, interactive cookie or cupcake decorating experience for a team.

The Slow Season is Actually Relationship Season
Every year, business picks up in Florida the same way, and every year, the relationships that drive it get neglected the moment things get busy. September is historically the quietest month statewide, which makes it the one stretch most owners actually have time to rebuild the referral relationships that got buried during the rush.
What this means for you: McKinsey research found word of mouth drives 20 to 50 percent of purchasing decisions, and that only grows when it's actually tended to. A handful of real check-in calls with past clients and referral partners now is worth more than any ad campaign once the busy season hits.
Our members don't just read about rebuilding referral relationships, they get the training and the actual tools to do it, every month, as part of membership. See what is included >
