Your team talks before your marketing ever does. Here's why that matters.

September 16, 2026
Every business owner in this group already knows how to network a room. Fewer of us think as much about how we lead the people already on our team, and that's the reputation that actually travels.
Your employees talk. Your vendors talk. The way you handle a hard conversation, give credit, or show up on a rough day becomes the story people tell about your business long before your marketing does.
We've said for years that FPA is about connection, but connection isn't just what happens on a Thursday Zoom. It's also how you treat the people who already trust you enough to work for you.
The room you build inside your own business is the one everyone else hears about.

TOMORROW - THURSDAY 8:30 AM
Bring the REAL You
Every Thursday at 8:30 AM, FPA Connects fills up with business owners who drop the polished pitch and just talk. They talk about what's working, what's not, and who they're trying to meet. It's less a meeting and more a standing appointment with people who get it. This is a very active and engaged group, so come ready for the energy and the conversation!
Scott Doggett has spent more than 30 years in leadership, operations, and organizational culture across hospitality and nonprofit work, and in 2025 that experience became the National Academy of Leadership Development and the Priceless Leadership Movement. His guiding message is simple: see people differently, lead people better.
The idea took shape over decades of watching what happens on both ends of leadership, organizations where people are genuinely developed and valued, and ones where people get treated as positions to manage rather than human beings. After going through his own major career transitions, Scott became convinced that a person's value can never be tied to a title or a spot on an org chart, a conviction that eventually became his book, Priceless! See People Differently. Lead People Better., and then the Academy itself.
What makes his approach different is that he refuses to treat dignity and accountability as opposites. Through interactive workshops, keynotes, retreats, and consulting, he helps leaders translate servant leadership into everyday behavior, not a one-time training people forget by Monday, arguing that people perform best when they feel both valued and responsibly challenged.
The part that's surprised him most since launching? How much a movement depends on relationships rather than having a great program. Some connections grow fast, others take real patience, but he's learned to stay faithful to the mission and trust that consistent effort creates ripples that aren't always immediately visible.
Right now, Scott's ideal connection is an introduction to a CEO, senior executive, HR or learning leader, culture leader, association executive, or event planner looking for a speaker, workshop, retreat, or longer-term leadership partner, especially any organization navigating growth, change, or a leadership transition.
Florida's Small Business Boom Is Real, But Growth Alone Won't Build Yours.
Orlando just ranked #1 among midsized U.S. cities for small business growth, Jacksonville came in 3rd nationally, and Tampa 4th. Pay growth in Jacksonville is running at 6.81% over two years, double the national average.
What this means for you: a bigger market means more competition for attention, not less. Growth doesn't automatically send business your way, connection does. The businesses actually capturing this boom are the ones who've gotten specific about who should be referring them and made sure those people actually know what they do.
Our members do not just read about growth, they get a statewide network built to turn it into real referrals. Explore FPA Membership >
