There is a real difference between the two, and it starts with how you introduce yourself.

Contact Fade. Connections Stick.
We've all walked out of a networking event with a stack of business cards and no real memory of who half those people were. That's the difference between a contact and a connection. A contact is a name in your phone. A connection is someone who remembers you, refers you, and picks up when you call.
The gap between the two usually comes down to something small: how you introduce yourself. Most business owners either ramble through their whole résumé or default to the flat "I'm in insurance" and watch the conversation stall right there. Neither one gives the other person anything to hold on to.
At FPA, we talk a lot about relationships because relationships are the whole point. But a relationship has to start somewhere, and it usually starts with those first ten seconds. Get that right, and you're not just introducing yourself. You're opening a door.
To your success,

This weekly "Opportunity Room" is exactly the kind of room where those connections happen. Show up, bring your story, and leave with a few new people in your corner. It's fast, it's focused, and it's free to attend.
If you're still deciding whether this community is made up of your people, the best way to find out is to show up. The 30-day trial gets you into the private chat, the Thursday Zooms, and the everyday conversations where referrals actually happen. No pressure, no commitment, just a real look inside.

Not able to make the full conference? The Business Showcase is its own opportunity.
Thursday, July 31st from 4:30 to 7:30 PM, Orlando-area business owners are invited to set up a table, meet the room, and put their business in front of a crowd built for exactly this. Exhibitor tables are $250, and the showcase is open to area residents if you just want to walk the room and make connections!
PIP26 is where Florida business owners come together for a full day of education, connection, and momentum you can't get from a Thursday Zoom alone. This year's sessions cover everything from Tax & Profit Strategies to AI Integration for both beginners and advanced users, Personal Branding & Messaging, and a legal look at AI in business, plus much more. Select sponsorship levels are still available, and it's a great way to get your business in front of the room and set yourself up for next year's Professionals in Paradise!
If you meant to be at PIP this year and life got in the way, just reply and let us know. We will see if we can make it happen!
Will & Shannon Dukes, Intriguing Introductions
There's a moment in every networking room where someone asks, "So, what do you do?" and the answer either lands or it doesn't. Will and Shannon Dukes built an entire workshop around that moment. Intriguing Introductions helps business owners craft both the short version and the long version of their story, the kind that captivates instead of fades, sparks a real conversation instead of a polite nod, and leaves the other person knowing exactly what you do and why it matters to them.
It's a skill every FPA member can use the very next time they're in a room, and it's exactly the kind of practical, real-world tool PIP26 is built around.

Here's one our members don't have to figure out alone: AI.
Every second Tuesday of the month, Rob Cressy leads a Live AI Masterclass built exclusively for FPA members. It's practical and hands-on, designed for real business owners, not engineers. No jargon, no overwhelm, just useful skills you can put to work that same week. The next session is Tuesday, July 14. It's one of the many valuable things your membership unlocks!

Every connection starts with a first impression, and every FPA member gets a community built to help that impression turn into a real relationship. Between the weekly Zooms, the private chat, and a referral network that spans the whole state, this is where contacts become connections. The 30-day trial makes it easy to find out for yourself.
